So this week was all about law, law and law.
Pretty interesting and different if I may say so. I always found law to be very interesting and I actually wanted to study law but Sharia Law to be precise as it is the law of my religion, but unfortunately there isn't any universities here in Finland that offer that specific law degree, but hey maybe somewhere abroad some other time..? :)

LAW WEEK

We had Marjaana Marmo as a lecturer this week, as she specializes in this field of study. She also gave us a assignment to do in our groups and we had to present that for the class on Thursday.
Marjaana had given each group a article to go through and to present this on Thursday's class as a PowerPoint presentation for the rest of the class.
Our article was about "Promotional Games" we had to basically tell the class what it's about. Also we talked about the legal aspects and issues.

We were introduced briefly to different types of laws
1. Code Law (Roman-Germanic law)
2. Case Law (Anglo-American law)
3. Sharia Law ( Islamic basic law)
Marjaana explained a bit more about the laws practiced here in Finland. The main law based here is Code Law. Also, the European Convention on Human Rights and Community Law. Finland also follows the Community law, which is for the European Union countries. Finland actually voluntarily applied for the EU union. As a member of the European Union it is a must and part of the original acceptance contract that Finland must follow the community Law. This rule applies to all EU union countries.
Most of us have a common understanding of these laws I have mentioned above but I've realized that the Sharia law is not that familiar to many so I'll go a little bit deeper into this.
What is Sharia?
It is showing kindness to others, treating people equally, it is about being modest, it is praying, fasting, and giving charity. The Sharia law is based on the Quran and Sunnah (Hadith). The Sharia is a way of life, it isn't a legal system. It is how Muslims live their life.
As a Muslim girl, I feel like people don't understand the Sharia law or even the religion Islam itself, or maybe they just don't want to understand it..? It’s not even that hard to do a research, that's what the internet is for. Why do you need to be a follower and just believe everything that is being said and spread around the media? Why not take the initiative and just do your research.. That's if you want to understand. Specially now with all the Trump hype, Islamophobia keeps on growing and it is even more open than ever. I just think it’s very sad to see how small minded and fucking (excuse my french) dumb people can be today. I could never be influenced by the media or even believe something so outrageous, I rather be sure and do my own research or just not believe nor care at all. I'm sorry but I just had to get that out of my chest, because enough is enough. I hate to see people making silly comments about Islam, you will never catch me talking in a bad manner about another religion because that’s how I was raised and that's what Islam is all about. I will respect you no matter what your religion, colour, gender or whatever is.
What do people think Sharia is? Why is there such a confusion?
The media and ISIS has clouded everyone's idea of Sharia. People are thinking now that Sharia law tells us to kill people when in fact, in Islam the worst sin you can commit is actually to KILL another human being!
It doesn't make any sense that all Muslims need to answer for the actions of a few extremist groups. I didn’t do it and I’m pretty sure none of my family members or friends had anything to do with this vile act. It truly amazes me how some people think, but if that is the case then surely we can blame all the Germans for Hitler’s actions? But obviously we won't and would never do such an inhumane thing, you get my point? Then my question is this, why do all Muslims get hated and blamed for something they had nothing to do with whatsoever? I’m 100% sure every religion has a couple bad seeds, but that’s just how it is. Not much we can do about it is there? Spread LOVE not hate!!!
I was asked not long ago what is the difference between the Sharia law and the law ”us NORMAL Muslims” abide. So let me break this down for you, basically this person thought that the Sharia law is practiced and abided by the extremists and terrorists and so on, and the normal Muslims like me go by another Islamic law…? This is not how it works at all. The Sharia law is the only law in Islam, and I think the media has influenced peoples point of view about this law and religion so much.
How can this be resolved?

People do your own research and be open minded enough to seek knowledge from creditable sources and not hashtag Sharia on Instagram!
Okay I feel like I got sooo distracted hahah my bad but I just felt like sharing my views and after all that’s what this whole blogging is for right?
Hope you enjoyed, my lovely readers!
We shall continue next week again, CIAOOO!
