Guess who's back, back again? Aniza's back, tell a friend!
Hahah as you can see this blogging thing is growing on me. Who would've thought I would ever feel this way after my first blog. NOT ME! Guess I have to eat my words now LOL
Anywaaaays...
So this week was pretty interesting, we were introduced to our projects which I was soooo waiting for! The excitement and interest just keeps building up now.

Pasi Latva, guest speaker. Lecture at Laurea Otaniemi
We had a guest speaker Pasi Latva, Head of Marketing from Suomen Suoramainonta.
Oh and by the way our project is about SSM! Pasi gave us an introduction about the company, basic necessary information such as, what do they do, what services do they provide etc. In a nutshell, SSM is Finland's leading private company that specialises in direct marketing. What I was incredibly surprised about was the fact that, actually 80% of the households read the papers they receive. YES MY DEAR READERS, THAT IS RIGHT 80%!!! That is a big number of people, I personally would think that direct marketing is a dying field, with all the technologies around us today. But could I be any more WRONG?

Here's a short insightful video about SSM. Enjoy :)
On Thrusday as well we had another guest speaker, Petteri Avilia, an entrepreneur.
He gave a very interesting lecture about personal branding. Avilia’s speech was about how to market yourself. He also told us about his life story, it was nice hearing about something different for once and not so formal.

Petteri Avilia, Entrepreneur
He gained most of our attention solely because he was telling us about his personal experiences, and what made him the person he is today. One of the most interesting things he mentioned was honesty and to leave a good impression with people. After all personal branding is marketing yourself. What’s a better way to market yourself other than to leave a positive and lasting impression about yourself? I’ll give you an example of this but in a different scenario.
Ready?
So you go out to eat, and the waitress does such a good job and gives an excellent service. You have your food, you’re enjoying your meal out, the waitress comes back and asks if everything is as you wished. (At this point you’re unconsciously smiling and thinking awww how nice). I think you get the point now, so fast forward to the end. It is time for the bill. After such a nice service, I’m pretty sure you will tip this waitress. Moral of the story leave a good impression, the reward at the end is bigger. In this case, a bigger tip hahah.
Time for me to wrap this up, but before I leave PLEASE read this article about Personal Branding. I promise you, you won't regret it. Till next time, ta-ta! :)
